About the Library

ScrollMagic is a scroll interaction library.

It's a complete rewrite of its predecessor Superscrollorama by John Polacek.
A plugin-based architecture offers easy customizability and extendability.

To implement animations, ScrollMagic can work with multiple frameworks.
The recommended solution is the Greensock Animation Platform (GSAP) due to its stability and feature richness. For a more lightweight approach the VelocityJS framework is also supported. Alternatively custom extensions can be implemented or the necessity of a framework can be completely avoided by animating simply using CSS and class toggles.

Is ScrollMagic the right library for you?
ScrollMagic takes an object oriented approach using a controller for each scroll container and attaching multiple scenes defining what should happen at what part of the page. While this offers a great deal of control, it might be a little confusing, especially if you're just starting out with javascript.
If the above points are not crucial for you and you are just looking for a simple solution to implement css animations I would strongly recommend taking a look at the awesome skrollr project. It almost solely relies on element attributes and thus requires minimal to no javascript knowledge.

Availability

To get your copy of ScrollMagic you have the choice between four options:

Option 1: GitHub
Download a zip file containing the source code, demo page, all examples and documentation from the GitHub releases page or clone the package to your machine using the git command line interface:

Option 2: Bower
ScrollMagic is also available on bower and will only install the necessary source code, ignoring all example and documentation files.
Please mind that since they are not core dependencies, you will have to add frameworks like GSAP, jQuery or Velocity manually, should you choose to use them.

Option 3: npm
If you prefer the node package manager, feel free to use it.
Keep in mind that like with bower non-crucial files will be ignored (see above).

Option 4: CDN
If you don't want to host ScrollMagic yourself, you can include it from cdnjs:

NOTE: The logging feature is removed in the minified version due to file size considerations.

Usage

The basic ScrollMagic design pattern is one controller, which has one or more scenes attached to it.
Each scene is used to define what happens when the container is scrolled to a specific offset.

If you don't want to download any software and you have DRM-free epub files, you can choose to read them online. Here I introduce several ways for you to read epub online.

1. Play Books

It can let us to read epub books online. On the browser or on Android devices, either is OK. Play Books offers us a good way to get ebooks from various sources. And we can access to read them on Android devices.

Uploading is really simple. Just come to your personal collection inside?the Play Books?and click on the “Uploads” icon in the top right sidebar. Then a new window will come out for you to choose the book you want or just drag it in to Play Books.

It's very convenient to use it to read epub files online. You can import any drm-free epub files to it and read. You can see that the files can be displayed very clearly.

Simple Epub Reader will display your books in a rather clean and visual way. Then you can click on the book you want to read to open it and begin reading.

3. MagicScroll eBook Reader

MagicScroll eBook Reader?can be used to read epub files, but it won’t look pretty in the interface. Usually there is one ad on Simple Epub Reader's library page, while there are three on MagicScroll's page. The interface doesn't look so clean. But that doesn't matter so much, as it works well when you open books to read.

Open Non-DRM EPUB Files on PC with Free Software

1.Calibre

You can click to download it if you don't have Calibre in your computer. Calibre can be used to read non-DRM epub files. Just click the 'Add' icon to add your epub books to it and click the book to open it.

If the book is DRMed, you cannot open it and will see this window:

And so you cannot open DRM epub files with Calibre or the following free softwares. The non-DRM epub books will be opened normally.

2. EPUB File Reader

EPUB File Reader is a free epub files viewer. It can help you to open and read DRM-free epub ebooks and documents. The software interface consists of two parts, the left will show document chapter directory and the right is a browser to show document content. I think this is better for us to read the books compared with other softwares. This software is very easy to use. It is also completely free. Through the 'File' menu, you can 'Open' and 'Close' a EPUB file (file extension is .epub).

3. Stanza Desktop

It can be used to read all kinds of digital publications, including electronic books, newspapers, PDFs, and general web content.

Pros: Very elegant; Lots of customizable features; Supports a wide range of formats.

Cons: A little bloated

4. FB Reader

FB Reader is a free?and?open source?ebook reader?for Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other platforms. Supported formats include ePub, TXT, Fiction Book, TCR, RTF, CHM, OEB, HTML, Mobipocket(mobi) etc. without DRM and plain-text. I have tried it to read my epub files, too. It's OK.
